Mapping planar graphs into the Coxeter graph

We conjecture that every planar graph of odd-girth at least 11 admits a homomorphism to the Coxeter graph. Supporting this conjecture, we prove that every planar graph of odd-girth at least 17 admits a homomorphism to the Coxeter graph.

Packing Trees into Planar Graphs

1 I n t r o d u c t i o n We say that the graphs H 1 , . . . , Hk can be packed into a graph G if G contains subgraphs isomorphic to H 1 , . . . , Hk and pairwise edge disjoint. The problem of packing graphs has been widely studied, especially when G is a complete graph. For instance, it is known that two trees with n vertices none of them equal to a star can be packed into K~ [2]. The packing ...

Planar Graph Characterization - Using γ - Stable Graphs

A graph G is said to be γ stable if γ(Gxy) = γ(G), for all x, y ∈ V (G), x is not adjacent to y, where Gxy denotes the graph obtained by merging the vertices x, y. In this paper we have provided a necessary and sufficient condition for Ḡ to be γ stable, where Ḡ denotes the complement of G. We have obtained a characterization of planar graphs when G and Ḡ are γ stable graphs. Key–Words: γ stable...

Graph Voronoi Regions for Interfacing Planar Graphs

Commanding motion is supported by a touch screen interface. Human input demonstrating trajectories by a sequence of points may be incomplete, distorted etc. Theses e ects are compensated by a transformation of vertex sequences of a regular grid into paths of a planar graph which codes feasible motions. The transformation is based on alteration operations including re-routings and on a so-called...

Line graphs associated to the maximal graph

Let $R$ be a commutative ring with identity. Let $G(R)$ denote the maximal graph associated to $R$, i.e., $G(R)$ is a graph with vertices as the elements of $R$, where two distinct vertices $a$ and $b$ are adjacent if and only if there is a maximal ideal of $R$ containing both. Let $Gamma(R)$ denote the restriction of $G(R)$ to non-unit elements of $R$. In this paper we study the various graphi...
